HSE is committed to undertaking initiatives and participating in programs that promote educational growth and inspire youth of varied backgrounds to pursue careers in the legal profession. In support of that commitment, the Firm provides financial and mentoring resources to the following:

  • Lawyers for Learning. Through the Monroe County Bar Association, lawyers, paralegals, and staff from HSE are encouraged to spend time each week mentoring elementary school students in the Rochester City School District. Many HSE legal professionals have participated in this program and some have even continued to tutor the same students for several years following their graduation from elementary school.
  • Strings for Success is a program of The Center for Youth that gives all students in grades 3-8 at Rochester City School District School 19 the opportunity to learn to play violin and participate in educational activities.  Over 100 children participate in the program. The children develop a love of learning, a sense of accomplishment, and positive goals for the future.
