March 19, 2019
11:30 am - 2:00 pm

This program will provide a practical guide on achieving a successful outcome in mediation. Ninety-five percent of pending lawsuits end in pretrial settlement. With fewer trials in litigation, it is essential for lawyers, particularly younger attorneys, to learn about the mediation process and hone their negotiation skills. An experienced panel of mediators will provide key information on how to decide whether and when to mediate, choosing a mediator, encouraging and preparing clients for mediation, preparing a confidential mediation statement, and effectively presenting cases in mediation while avoiding common pitfalls.

HSE Litigation associate Samantha Mauer will moderate. HSE Litigation partner Erika Stanat will serve as a panelist. Additional panelists include:

  • William G. Bauer, Esq., Woods Oviatt Gilman LLP

  • Harold A. Kurland, Esq., Ward Greenberg Heller & Reidy LLP
