HSE partners Brian FieldmanMark Wilson, and Paul Holloway spoke at Hot Topics Facing Higher Education as part of the College and University Educational Breakfast Series, presented by The Bonadio Group and in collaboration with and the Upstate New York College Collaboration.  

Topics included:

  • Controls, actions, and processes that Colleges and Universities are required to have in place to comply with the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act
  • The Justice Department's recent brief in which it argued that Colleges and Universities "expressly agreed" in their Federal Financial Aid Program Participation Agreement to "comply with statutory and regulatory requirements" to receive financial aid funds
  • An update on the status of the Schlichter lawsuits that have impacted the 403(b) Plans offer by Colleges and Universities
