Simpson Scott 2017 018 HSE Roc 5184WebReadyHarter Secrest & Emery LLP, a full-service business law firm with offices throughout New York, announced that Scott R. Simpson has joined the firm as Counsel in the firm’s Health Care practice group.

Simpson joins Harter Secrest & Emery from Rochester Regional Health, where he served as Assistant General Counsel. In that role, he was responsible for matters pertaining to fraud and abuse compliance, general regulatory compliance, regulatory transaction support, physician contracting and patient privacy. He also led numerous medical group acquisition efforts on behalf of the health system.

Prior to joining Rochester Regional Health, Scott practiced for more than seven years with Nixon Peabody LLP and Abrams, Fensterman, Fensterman, Eisman, Formato, Ferrara and Wolf, LLP in Rochester.

Simpson is a graduate of the College of the Holy Cross and earned his law degree, cum laude, from the University at Buffalo Law School.
