Harter Secrest & Emery LLP, a full-service business law firm with offices throughout New York, was the recipient of the “2020 Liberator of the Year” award presented by the Rochester Regional Coalition Against Human Trafficking (RRCAHT) during its recent “Night of Celebration, Networking, Fundraising” event.

RRCAHT is dedicated to eliminating human trafficking in our communities through education, advocacy, and networking with individuals and organizations. The coalition includes individuals and groups such as the Angels of Mercy, Brightstar Community, Inc, Center for Youth, Church Women United, Feminists for Non-Violent Choices, National Council of Jewish Women, Planned Parenthood/RESTORE, Sisters of St Joseph, Stop Abuse Campaign, Worker Justice Center of New York, World Wide Documentaries, and the Vignelli Center for Design Studies at RIT.

Since 2018, Harter Secrest & Emery has assisted RRCAHT on a pro bono basis and helped to determine organizational structure, implement policies, and obtain tax-exempt 501(c)(3) status so RRCAHT could access resources to fulfill its important mission.
