Before retiring from the Firm at the end of November 2015, John advised clients as a corporate attorney with nearly 33 years of experience in the telecommunications industry. He served incumbent and competitive local exchange carriers, cellular and interexchange companies, management consultants, and industry organizations. In addition, he counseled telecommunications companies as to regulatory matters and corporate acquisitions.

In the telecommunications industry, John had extensive experience in forming business alliances, in securities transactions and compliance, and in labor and employee matters, including:

  • Completing more than 55 acquisitions, mergers, and divestitures
  • Advising clients respecting the Telecommunications Act of 1996.
  • Prior to rejoining HSE as a Partner, John served as general and managing attorney of Frontier Corporation.
