As former Assistant General Counsel at Rochester Regional Health, Scott provides practical and client-focused advice to healthcare organizations. He counsels clients on federal and state compliance matters and voluntary self-disclosures, including those involving the federal and state fraud and abuse laws, practitioner compensation issues, government audits and investigations, patient privacy laws (i.e., HIPAA) and medical staff and practitioner disciplinary matters. Scott also has extensive experience in facility and practice acquisitions and other health care transactions.

Scott’s experience counselling health care systems, nursing homes, physician groups and pharmaceutical companies, among others, also includes day-to-day legal needs such as general and physician contracting and patient treatment and informed consent issues.

Scott’s practice also includes the representation of not-for-profit, tax-exempt organizations in connection with corporate, governance and tax issues.
